I agree with you. its stupid to focus on test scores alone instead of other things, like if the child actually learns anything and not just memorizing facts, or skipping important subjects because its not going to be on some test. some people are really smart but when it comes to test, they just mess up a lot.

The NCLB action can only be achieved in an ideal world. The president's move is not wise. Not every student is designed to fit the school study. If you want them to catch up with what's going on in school you will force them to learn. I think instead of No Child Left Behind we can enforce No Child Do not Have His Position. The parents, teachers and the society teach the children and let the children find their position in the society. This can change the teacher force the child to learn to the teacher guide the child to learn. I believe with the teacher's guiding every child can finds his or her social position.
